Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Manager at Biamp's facility is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of all production, planning, and service functions. This role integrates both strategic long-term planning and immediate operational management within a dynamic, lean manufacturing setting. The Manufacturing Manager guarantees the safe, efficient, and consistent production of high-quality audio systems, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and financial parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a diverse team of over 45 employees across various production units, including supervisors and shifts, managing the complete workflow from speaker cabinet fabrication to final assembly and quality testing.
- Inspire and motivate the workforce to achieve peak performance while fostering a collaborative and positive workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a secure work environment.
- Oversee timely production of superior products to satisfy customer demand and meet corporate revenue targets.
- Direct planning and service teams to enhance production operations.
- Maintain optimal staffing levels and cultivate strong, engaged teams.
- Provide training, assessment, coaching, and development for employees, supervisors, and team leads to maximize productivity, process control, quality standards, and timely delivery.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost factory efficiency utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Align the objectives of production, planning, and service teams with the company's overarching vision and priorities.
- Develop and achieve annual production targets and objectives.
- Collaborate with leaders from Operations and other departments to fulfill company goals and initiatives.
- Meet or surpass key performance indicators for safety, on-time delivery, cycle time, efficiency, quality, and cost management in a multi-shift Lean manufacturing environment.
Additional Support:
- Work closely with peers in Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure cohesive plans across the site, maintaining customer satisfaction and achieving site and corporate objectives.
- Act as a vital member of the Operations Senior Leadership team.
- Ensure the factory adheres to the highest standards of organization and cleanliness.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in manufacturing science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of experience in production management or supervision.
- Prior experience and/or certification in Lean Six Sigma methodology with a proven track record of implementing Lean principles and leading effective change.
- Experience in electronic manufacturing is preferred; speaker manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Ability to lead multiple teams across various shifts to identify and resolve issues.
- Strong focus on data-driven, structured problem-solving.
- Capability to develop and engage a diverse team towards high achievement.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint).
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or other ERP/MRP systems is advantageous.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and remain adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Work Environment:
- This is an onsite position.
- Position requires flexibility to support teams during off-shift hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift 10 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Capability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Tasks may involve repetitive motions requiring reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, and/or bending.
- Work in an environment with permissible machine noise levels.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Domestic and international travel may be required up to 10%.
