Position Overview:

The Finance Manager - Credit plays a crucial role in evaluating credit and financial reports to assess the risks associated with extending credit to both domestic and international clients. This position also involves providing strategic recommendations regarding policies and procedures within Horton's credit domain to protect the company's assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the credit and collections function, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Develop recommendations to enhance the overall credit risk management strategy of the company.
  • Prepare and deliver updates on the credit function to senior management and the board.
  • Collaborate with sales, accounting, and external stakeholders to proactively resolve payment issues.
  • Implement and optimize automated cash application software.
  • Coordinate with finance teams regarding customer inquiries related to shipments.
  • Work alongside FP&A and accounting teams on credit-related matters impacting cash flow and profitability.
  • Manage the company's REMAN Core process, including policy and accounting oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's credit policies and procedures through detailed financial analysis and risk assessment.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, CCE) are advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in credit management, finance, or accounting, with a focus on evaluating credit risk and managing credit policies.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, proficiency in financial analysis, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to develop and implement credit policies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for financial modeling and reporting.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with credit laws, regulations, and best practices, as well as financial statements and risk assessment tools.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a credit team effectively.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills and problem-solving abilities for addressing credit-related challenges.
