Director of 3rd Party Cyber Risk Management

Full-time/Permanent role

Location: Remote, with preference for candidates in Saint Paul, MN.

This position is pivotal in shaping and executing the organization’s third-party cyber risk management strategy. The individual will ensure that all external partnerships adhere to regulatory standards, align with corporate cybersecurity policies, and fulfill the organization’s risk management criteria. The Director will be responsible for crafting and executing the third-party risk management framework while leading a team dedicated to evaluating, monitoring, and mitigating risks linked to vendors, suppliers, and other external entities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Program Development and Management: Establishing and overseeing the third-party risk management program.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identifying and addressing potential risks associated with third-party relationships.
  • Vendor Relationships: Managing and nurturing relationships with external partners.
  • Incident Management: Responding to and managing cybersecurity incidents involving third parties.
  • Reporting and Communication: Providing clear communication and reporting on risk management activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Cybersecurity across various sectors.
  • At least five (5) years in a management or supervisory capacity.
  • CISSP certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity/risk management, with a focus on third-party risk management.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
  • Additional certifications such as SANS, ISACA (CGEIT, CISA, CISM, CRISC) are advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
