Position Summary:

The Finance Manager - Credit plays a pivotal role in assessing credit and financial reports to evaluate the risks associated with extending credit to both domestic and international clients. This position also involves providing strategic recommendations on policies and procedures to protect the company's assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the credit and collections department, ensuring effective management and supervision.
  • Develop and recommend strategies to enhance the company's credit risk management framework.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on departmental updates to senior management and the board.
  • Collaborate with sales, accounting, and external partners to resolve payment issues and serve as the subject matter expert on credit policies.
  • Implement and optimize automated cash application software.
  • Coordinate with finance teams regarding customer inquiries related to short shipments.
  • Work closely with financial planning and analysis teams on credit matters affecting cash flow and profitability.
  • Manage the company's core process, policy, and accounting related to remanufactured products.
  • Ensure compliance with established credit policies and procedures, including conducting thorough financial analyses to assess risk levels.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential clients and perform month-end journal entries related to credit and collections.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, CCE) are advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in credit management, finance, or accounting, with a focus on credit risk evaluation.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, proficiency in financial analysis, and excellent communication skills for client and team interactions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for financial modeling and reporting.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with credit laws, regulations, and best practices, along with an understanding of financial statements and risk assessment tools.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a credit team, setting goals and providing direction.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building abilities and problem-solving skills for addressing credit-related challenges.
