Job Overview

The individual in this position will lead a team of systems engineers tasked with server, cloud, and application management. This strategic role is crucial for ensuring reliable 24/7 operations and advancing Blaze Credit Union's transition to a Cloud-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the IT leadership team to evaluate and implement a hybrid server infrastructure that integrates a Cloud-based strategy.
  • Work alongside other IT leaders to continuously review current patching and software deployment processes, identifying risks and bottlenecks while implementing solutions to achieve continuous uptime and enhanced security in support of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Partner with the Information Security team to drive key initiatives related to information security and IT risk, ensuring compliance with audit and examination findings.
  • Establish and manage processes and controls that guarantee maximum uptime, continuous improvement, and prompt service for both on-premises and Cloud workloads.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Disaster Recovery strategy for critical systems and server infrastructure, ensuring resilience and eliminating single points of failure.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, deployment, management, and maintenance of systems/applications, monitoring tools, upgrades, and administration of all IT systems, including applications, servers, storage, and databases, to ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues.
  • Define service level agreements (SLAs) and operating level agreements in alignment with organizational objectives and customer requirements.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring accountability for the delivery of outsourced functions and negotiating contracts with key service providers to meet service level expectations.
  • Establish standardized processes and key operational metrics to effectively monitor performance and operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 to 8 years of IT experience, with a focus on cloud, infrastructure, data centers, messaging, collaboration, Cloud, O365, and wide area networks.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate a computer; interact with internal staff and the public; travel as needed; lift up to 20 lbs.
