Job Overview

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: This role is dedicated to cultivating, enhancing, and deepening existing and prospective member relationships by guiding and educating members in the management of their accounts and financial matters. The aim is to establish enduring connections while promoting products and services that contribute to their financial well-being. Delivering personalized, professional service to all members is paramount, along with identifying opportunities for additional business growth.

WORK SCHEDULE: Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with alternating Saturdays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist members with fundamental inquiries regarding new account openings, service requests, and credit applications.
  • Proactively inform members about the advantages and features of the Credit Union's offerings, while actively cross-selling and making qualified referrals for suitable loan, deposit, and fee income products.
  • Build trust and long-lasting relationships with members through engagement, education, and a consultative approach.
  • Provide notarial services to members, including document witnessing and identity verification.
  • Receive guidance from management and exercise judgment within established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline by gathering member contact details and scheduling follow-ups for further engagement.
  • Refer members to financial specialists as necessary.
  • Diagnose and resolve moderately complex member issues, collaborating with other departments when needed.
  • Consistently achieve and surpass established sales targets.
  • Assist members with unique account needs, including fraud cases, retirement services, and account maintenance.
  • Engage with the community through participation in sponsored events and initiatives.
  • Stay informed about all promotions and participate in activities to support organizational goals.
  • Adhere to risk and compliance protocols to protect member assets and privacy.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace environment.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor by being respectful and considerate towards members and colleagues.
  • Provide support to other teams within Retail Delivery as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • High School diploma is mandatory.
  • Some college education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated sales abilities and at least one year of experience in member service or retail banking are advantageous.
  • Experience in cash handling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with banking and credit union regulations is a plus.
  • Experience in recommending financial products and plans is beneficial.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining service quality.
  • Exceptional member service skills with a focus on member satisfaction.
  • Desire and capability to assist others in a professional context.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and general office equipment.
  • Comfort with self-service technology.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Composure and problem-solving skills with a positive attitude.
  • Reliability and accountability in work performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Punctuality and commitment to scheduled hours are essential.
  • Must obtain or possess a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) unique qualifier.
