Position Summary: OPSPro, LLC focuses on delivering compliance and operational support to small businesses and government contractors, covering areas such as HR, Payroll, Accounting, Contracting, and IT. The Financial Operations Specialist is responsible for managing daily tasks that facilitate the accounting cycle for our clients. This includes, but is not limited to, system updates, invoice generation, and month-end closing procedures.


Key Responsibilities of a Financial Operations Specialist at OPSPro:

This is a full-time, remote position. The Financial Operations Specialist manages daily tasks that support the accounting cycle for our clients.

  • Oversee Accounts Payable (including invoice entries, payment processing, and monitoring AP Aging).
  • Manage Accounts Receivable (including timesheet oversight, invoice creation, submission to clients, and AR Aging monitoring).
  • Conduct month-end closing processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and adjusting journal entries.
  • Assist teams in meeting financial deadlines for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closings.
  • Input payroll into the accounting system and perform reconciliations.
  • Update and manage the accounting system (master data such as personnel, vendor records, work authorizations, and project setups).
  • Review expense reports for compliance with FAR cost allocation.
  • Manage client communications, ensuring high-quality customer service standards and responsiveness.
  • Provide general accounting support as required.

Qualifications for a Financial Operations Specialist:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of GAAP.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (including Pivots and VLOOKUPs).
  • Proficient in other Microsoft applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint).
  • Must be proficient with PCs and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
Preferred:
  • Experience with various accounting systems (Procas, Unanet, and/or Costpoint is a plus).
  • Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), and Federal Travel Regulations (FTR).
  • Experience with government invoicing for T&M, FFP, and CPFF contracts.
  • Experience managing multiple clients and client interactions.
  • Familiarity with invoicing portals such as WAWF, PLSC, TOS, IOL, WOI, and MyInvoice.
