Role Responsibilities:

The Personnel Security Specialist will collaborate with the Recruitment and Operations teams to oversee security processes, manage competing priorities, and ensure timely task completion aligned with mission requirements.

  • Facilitates the security package process with candidates and hiring managers, ensuring all materials are up-to-date.
  • Coordinates requests for personnel security clearances and background investigations, assisting candidates through the clearance process.
  • Organizes and tracks security documentation and forms.
  • Reviews personnel security forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicates with candidates regarding additional information needed from credit check reports.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with Recruitment staff regarding security packages and applicant tracking system updates.
  • Interprets and conveys government guidelines and organizational policies to team members.
  • Manages the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and related security activities.
  • Supports business development efforts with security expertise and contributions to proposals.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with security departments within relevant agencies.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams) is required.
Familiarity with e-QIP, NISPOM requirements, and various clearance types.
Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a related field, along with 2 to 4 years of experience as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO).

Knowledge Requirements:
Experience with U.S. Government online security programs, including DISS and e-QIP.
Strong understanding of security documentation such as SF-85, SF-86, DD 254, and DD 441.
In-depth knowledge of NISPOM requirements and handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII).


Work Environment:
This position is based in a hybrid work setting, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the corporate office.

Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidates will undergo a background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required, along with a valid driver's license.
