Overview

The Head of Maintenance Operations will oversee all facets of the maintenance, utilities, and inventory management activities at Chobani's facility. The ideal candidate will possess the essential expertise, strong presence, and leadership skills necessary to ensure that our production capabilities and performance align with our high standards. The primary objective will be to minimize downtime to guarantee optimal plant efficiency. This position is accountable for upholding both food safety and the quality of Chobani products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the technical services team, as well as staff in both direct and indirect roles.
  • Managing all engineering design and project work related to capital planning to ensure timely execution, collaborating with relevant vendors.
  • Developing and planning annual and long-term capital project budgets.
  • Supporting key performance initiatives within the plant to facilitate effective interactions with R&D, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Product Supply teams.
  • Ensuring the efficient manufacturing of products that deliver the highest perceived value to our customers while maintaining product quality and timely delivery.
  • Creating a safe working environment and ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards.
  • Promoting Lean manufacturing practices within the technical services department.
  • Optimizing the organizational structure to achieve set objectives.
  • Establishing and maintaining quality metrics, preventive maintenance schedules, and performance benchmarks.
  • Championing employee safety, environmental compliance, and product quality; fulfilling schedule commitments and cost targets.
  • Representing Chobani in collaboration with local officials and dairy community leaders.
  • Adhering to Chobani's safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Qualifications
  • Experience in dairy or food industry manufacturing with comprehensive process knowledge.
  • A minimum of 3 years in senior management roles overseeing technical services, with a focus on plant maintenance, automation, and utilities.
  • Over 10 years of proven experience in manufacturing and maintenance environments.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Engineering, Dairy Management, Food Science, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of MRP and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, food safety, and compliance regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of PLC and logic controls for high-speed operational equipment.
  • Analytical problem solver with the capability to identify root causes and develop rational solutions.
  • Applied knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Experience in planning, developing, and managing manufacturing operations budgets.
  • A proven track record of driving significant, measurable improvements and achieving meaningful objectives.
