Position Overview

Principal Solutions Architect

WOOD Consulting Services, Inc. is in search of a Principal Solutions Architect to facilitate the architecture, development, and implementation of sophisticated cybersecurity solutions.

Security Clearance Requirements

All candidates must be U.S. Citizens and hold an Active Secret clearance with the capability to secure TS/SCI. Candidates are required to achieve DHS suitability prior to commencing employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adopts SAFe Agile methodologies and integrates these practices with data governance and management.
  • Utilizes advanced principles and concepts, contributing to the evolution of innovative ideas.
  • Tackles complex challenges and devises highly creative solutions.
  • Operates with considerable independence in decision-making and provides mentorship to team members in both technical and organizational skills.
  • Collaborates with product and engineering teams to evaluate the trade-offs of various solutions and their alignment with product strategies.
  • Plans, executes, and oversees large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Designs and manages the lifecycle of projects across diverse technologies and platforms.
  • Translates business objectives into technical solutions and applications.
  • Employs innovative and analytical thinking to resolve system issues and enhance project outcomes.
  • Delivers flexible and integrated solutions to adapt to evolving customer needs.
  • Advises product and engineering teams on business processes and system functionalities to ensure alignment with proposed solutions.
  • Implements industry best practices for root cause analysis related to Enterprise architecture and cybersecurity failures.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is mandatory.
    • Alternatively, twelve (12) years of experience may substitute for a degree, totaling twenty-two (22) or more years of experience.
  • An advanced degree (Master's) is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of relevant software development experience is essential.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with Lean-Agile principles, metrics, and technologies, as well as familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Lean Thinking, and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Comprehension of intricate data models.
  • Strong expertise in AWS, database management, networking, and software development solutions.
  • Extensive experience in multi-tiered architecture utilizing microservices.
  • Proficient in developing identity and access management solutions.
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and advanced decision-making capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of technology trends, advocating for new ideas and enhancements in products and processes.
  • Experience with various Agile tools, including JIRA and Confluence.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in developing and maintaining a web-based operational system for real-time malware analysis.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar methodologies.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Cloudbees.
  • Understanding of containerized applications and microservices architectures.
  • Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud architectures and implementations.
  • Technical insight into cybersecurity attack methodologies.
  • Experience in implementing systems into production environments.
  • Background in developing malware analysis systems.
  • Ability to create metrics for assessing system performance using Grafana.

Desired Certifications

  • Certification in Agile software development methodologies (e.g., SCRUM Master) is highly desirable.
  • AWS Associate Architect certification is preferred.
