Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Systems Architect to evaluate, design, and create automated cloud-based requirements and architectures, as well as develop derived requirements and systems engineering artifacts for advanced cloud infrastructure, management, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Systems Engineering projects in support of a cutting-edge cybersecurity system.
  • Coordinate teams in the development, integration, and testing of advanced cybersecurity solutions, collaborating with the Design & Development Lead and Chief Engineer.
  • Engage directly with customers, stakeholders, and end-users to discuss priorities, capability architectures, requirements, use cases, and stories to derive, develop, and decompose updates and specifications.
  • Act as the voice of the user throughout the development process.
  • Collaborate within Agile Release Trains and Agile Teams.
  • Support risk assessments and formulate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide Systems Engineering expertise and leadership for a large-scale cybersecurity initiative.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance and be eligible for a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
  • 8+ years of relevant systems engineering experience, including hardware and software requirements allocation, use case and story development, detailed system component design, and automation/orchestration experience with larger systems.
  • 2+ years of direct experience with AWS cloud deployment and management tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with significant experience successfully leading large teams.
  • Able to work effectively as a leader, in a team, or as an independent contributor.
  • Experience in an Agile development environment in a leadership capacity.
  • Possesses or quickly acquires a comprehensive understanding of Government Information Security policies, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Expertise in infrastructure automation - deployment, configuration, and orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting in JSON, YAML, HCL, Python, bash/PSH, and/or CloudFormation/Terraform.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading teams and projects at the tech lead or product owner level.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Git, Ansible, Chef, AWS Lambda, Terraform, or cloud-native tools like CloudFormation.
  • Programming experience in Java, JavaScript, .Net, Python, or Ruby.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows systems, including updating and programmatic manipulation.
  • Experience with NTP, DNS, Networking, LDAP, or Software repositories.
  • Knowledge of branching and release strategies, CI/CD Pipelines.
  • AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation experience.
  • Experience with Google Cloud and Azure Services.
  • Experience designing and implementing event-driven microservice architectures.
  • Experience in technical oversight of individuals and projects.
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Two years of related work experience may substitute for each year of degree-level education.

Desired Certifications:
  • Agile software development methodology certification (e.g., SAFe Practitioner or higher).
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner.
  • AWS Solutions Architect - Associate/Pro.
  • DoD IAT Level I or II (e.g., CISSP).
