Position Overview

Principal Solutions Architect

WOOD Consulting Services, Inc. is in search of a Principal Solutions Architect to facilitate the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.

Security Clearance Requirements

All candidates must be U.S. Citizens and hold an Active Secret clearance with the capability to obtain TS/SCI. Candidates must also meet DHS suitability requirements prior to commencing employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adopts SAFe Agile methodologies and integrates them with data management and governance practices.
  • Utilizes advanced principles, theories, and concepts, contributing to the creation of innovative principles and concepts.
  • Tackles exceptionally complex challenges and delivers highly inventive solutions.
  • Operates with significant autonomy for unreviewed actions or decisions, mentoring or supervising staff in both business and technical skills.
  • Collaborates with product and engineering teams to evaluate the trade-offs of potential solutions and their alignment with product roadmaps.
  • Plans, develops, and executes large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Architects and develops the lifecycle of projects across various technologies and platforms.
  • Translates business needs and objectives into technical applications and solutions.
  • Employs creative, innovative, and analytical thinking to resolve system issues and advance project goals.
  • Delivers flexible, integrated solutions to adapt to evolving customer business requirements.
  • Provides expert consultation to product and engineering teams, ensuring alignment of technical and business aspects of solutions with proposed value.
  • Applies industry best practices for root cause analysis of enterprise architecture, design, or configuration failures related to cybersecurity.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
    • Alternatively, twelve (12) years of experience may substitute for a degree, totaling twenty-two (22) or more years of experience.
  • An advanced degree (Master's) is preferred.
  • 10+ years of directly relevant software development experience is essential.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with Lean-Agile principles, metrics, and technology, or familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Lean Thinking, and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Comprehension of complex data models.
  • Strong expertise in AWS, database management, networking, and software development solutions.
  • Solid background in multi-tiered architecture utilizing microservices.
  • Extensive experience in developing identity and access management solutions.
  • Exceptional creativity, innovation, and advanced decision-making capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of technology trends, advocating for new ideas and improvements in products and processes.
  • Experience with various Agile tools, including JIRA and Confluence.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in developing, delivering, upgrading, and maintaining a web-based operational system for real-time malware analysis.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar methodologies.
  • Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Cloudbees.
  • Knowledge of containerized applications and microservices architectures.
  • Understanding of AWS and/or Azure cloud architectures and implementations.
  • Technical insight into cybersecurity attack techniques.
  • Experience in implementing systems into production environments.
  • Background in developing malware analysis systems.
  • Ability to develop metrics for measuring system performance using Grafana.

Desired Certifications

  • Certification in Agile software development methodologies (e.g., SCRUM Master) is highly desirable.
  • AWS Associate Architect certification is preferred.
