Position Overview

Principal Solutions Architect

WOOD Consulting Services, Inc. is in search of a Principal Solutions Architect to facilitate the architecture, development, and implementation of sophisticated cybersecurity solutions.

Security Clearance Requirements

All candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an Active Secret clearance and the capability to obtain TS/SCI. Candidates are required to achieve DHS suitability prior to employment commencement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adopts SAFe Agile methodologies and integrates them with data governance and management.
  • Utilizes advanced principles and theories to contribute to the evolution of innovative concepts.
  • Tackles exceptionally complex challenges and delivers creative solutions.
  • Acts with considerable independence in decision-making and provides mentorship to team members in both technical and operational skills.
  • Collaborates with product and engineering teams to evaluate potential solutions and their alignment with product strategies.
  • Oversees the planning, development, and execution of large-scale projects from inception to delivery.
  • Architects and manages the lifecycle of projects across various technologies and platforms.
  • Converts business objectives into technical applications and solutions.
  • Employs innovative and analytical thinking to resolve system issues and propel project goals.
  • Delivers adaptable, integrated solutions to address evolving customer requirements.
  • Advises product and engineering teams on business processes and system functionalities to ensure alignment with proposed value.
  • Implements industry best practices for root cause analysis concerning Enterprise architecture and cybersecurity design failures.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is mandatory.
    • Alternatively, twelve (12) years of experience may substitute for a degree, totaling twenty-two (22) or more years.
  • An advanced degree (Master's) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant software development experience is essential.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with Lean-Agile principles, metrics, and technologies, including Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Lean Thinking, and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Comprehension of intricate data models.
  • Extensive background in AWS, database management, networking, and software development.
  • Strong expertise in multi-tiered architecture utilizing microservices.
  • Proficient in developing identity and access management solutions.
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and advanced decision-making capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of technology trends and advocacy for new ideas and improvements in products and processes.
  • Experience with various Agile tools, such as JIRA and Confluence.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in developing and maintaining web-based operational systems for real-time malware analysis.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar methodologies.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, including Git, Jenkins, and Cloudbees.
  • Expertise in containerized applications and microservices architectures.
  • Understanding of AWS and/or Azure cloud architectures and implementations.
  • Technical knowledge of cybersecurity attack methodologies.
  • Experience in implementing systems into production environments.
  • Background in developing malware analysis systems.
  • Ability to develop metrics for system performance evaluation using Grafana.

Desired Certifications

  • Certification in Agile software development methodologies (e.g., SCRUM Master) is highly desirable.
  • AWS Associate Architect certification is preferred.
