Position Summary

NAOVI is currently in search of a skilled Senior Systems Engineer to evaluate, design, and create automated cloud-based requirements and architectures. This role involves developing derived requirements and systems engineering artifacts to enhance advanced cloud infrastructure, management, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Must hold an active Secret clearance and be capable of obtaining a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability is required.

  • Lead Systems Engineering projects supporting a cutting-edge cybersecurity system.
  • Coordinate teams in the development, integration, and testing of advanced cybersecurity solutions, collaborating with the Design & Development Lead and Chief Engineer.
  • Engage directly with customers, stakeholders, and end-users to prioritize, define capability architectures, requirements, use cases, and stories for subsequent updates and specifications.
  • Advocate for user needs during development.
  • Collaborate within Agile Release Trains and Agile Teams.
  • Assist in risk assessments and formulate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide Systems Engineering expertise and leadership for a significant cybersecurity initiative.
  • Create and revise standardized procedures, comprehensive documentation, and flexible checklists.

Essential Skills:
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant systems engineering experience, including hardware and software requirements allocation, use case and story development, detailed system component design, and automation/orchestration experience with large systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with substantial experience in managing large teams.
  • Able to function effectively as a leader, in a collaborative group, or as an independent contributor.
  • Experience in an Agile development environment in a leadership capacity.
  • Possesses or quickly acquires a thorough understanding of Government Information Security policies, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS/Azure cloud deployment and management tools.
  • Expertise in infrastructure automation, including deployment, configuration, and orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as JSON, YAML, HCL, Python, bash/PSH, and/or CloudFormation/Terraform.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar lean Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure) and cloud architecture, design, and implementation, including DevSecOps or DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of software and system lifecycle methodologies (e.g., ISO, CMMI, ITIL, etc.).
  • Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and security and privacy controls (NIST and NIST DHS experience).

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. [Four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.]

Desired Certifications:
  • Certification in Agile software development methodologies (e.g., SCRUM Master).
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
  • AWS Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional certification.
  • DoD IAT Level I or II certification.
