Position Overview

Principal Solutions Architect

WOOD Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Principal Solutions Architect to drive the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.

Security Clearance Requirements

All candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an Active Secret clearance and possess the capability to obtain TS/SCI. Candidates must also be eligible for DHS suitability prior to commencing employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adopts SAFe Agile methodologies and integrates them with data governance and management.
  • Utilizes advanced principles and theories to contribute to the creation of innovative concepts.
  • Tackles complex challenges and delivers inventive solutions.
  • Operates with significant autonomy and provides mentorship to team members in both technical and operational skills.
  • Collaborates with product and engineering teams to evaluate potential solutions and their alignment with product strategies.
  • Plans and executes large-scale projects from initial concept through to completion.
  • Architects and manages the lifecycle of projects across various technologies and platforms.
  • Translates business needs into effective technical applications and solutions.
  • Employs creative and analytical thinking to resolve system issues and enhance project outcomes.
  • Delivers flexible and integrated solutions that adapt to evolving customer requirements.
  • Advises product and engineering teams on business processes and system functionalities to ensure alignment with proposed solutions.
  • Implements industry best practices for root cause analysis related to enterprise architecture and cybersecurity failures.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is mandatory.
    • Alternatively, twelve (12) years of experience may substitute for a degree, totaling twenty-two (22) or more years of experience.
  • An advanced degree (Master's) is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of relevant software development experience is essential.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with Lean-Agile methodologies, metrics, and technologies, or familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Lean Thinking, and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Comprehension of intricate data models.
  • Strong expertise in AWS, databases, networking, and software development solutions.
  • Extensive experience in multi-tiered architecture utilizing microservices.
  • Solid background in developing identity and access management solutions.
  • Exceptional creativity, innovation, and advanced decision-making capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of technology trends, advocating for new ideas and improvements in products and processes.
  • Familiarity with various Agile tools, including JIRA and Confluence.

Desired Skills

  • Experience in developing and maintaining web-based operational systems with real-time malware analysis capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar methodologies.
  • Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Cloudbees.
  • Experience with containerized applications and microservices architectures.
  • Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud solutions and implementations.
  • Technical understanding of cybersecurity attack methodologies.
  • Experience in deploying systems into production environments.
  • Experience in developing malware analysis systems.
  • Ability to create metrics for assessing system performance using Grafana.

Desired Certifications

  • Certification in Agile software development methodologies (e.g., SCRUM Master) is highly preferred.
  • AWS Associate Architect certification is desirable.
