Director of Performance Improvement Role:

Full-Time, Weekdays, Day Shift

Position Overview:

The Director of Performance Improvement is responsible for establishing, executing, assessing, and ensuring the necessary updates to the Performance Improvement Plan. This role integrates departmental quality control, regulatory accreditation standards, and objectives aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals. Adherence to company policies, procedures, and the Corporate Compliance Program is essential in fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Organizes and leads Performance Improvement Committee/Quality Council meetings, adhering to an agenda that addresses quality of care issues and findings.
  2. Advises department leaders in the formulation of departmental performance improvement metrics, data gathering, and analysis that are timely, relevant, and outcome-oriented.
  3. Evaluates facility operations to ensure readiness for TJC surveys and implements corrective measures as necessary.
  4. Participates in annual mock surveys with input from Corporate.
  5. Promotes staff development and fosters a culture of accountability within the department and the organization.

Educational Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution is required; a Master's degree (M.A.) is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience, ideally in an acute care or behavioral health hospital environment.

Certifications and Licensure:

  • No specific certifications required; however, current knowledge of regulatory standards and accreditation requirements is essential.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical literature, financial reports, and legal documents is required. Capable of responding to inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory bodies, or business community members. Proficient in presenting information to senior management, public groups, and boards of directors. Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
