Director of Performance Improvement Role:
Full-Time, Weekdays, Day Shift
Position Overview:
The Director of Performance Improvement is responsible for the formulation, execution, assessment, and necessary updates of the Performance Improvement Plan. This role integrates departmental quality assurance, compliance with regulatory accreditation standards, and objectives aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals. Adherence to company policies, procedures, and the Corporate Compliance Program is essential to the responsibilities of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizes and leads Performance Improvement Committee/Quality Council meetings, ensuring the agenda addresses findings and concerns related to the quality of care.
- Advises department leaders in the creation of departmental performance improvement metrics, ensuring data collection and analysis are relevant, timely, and focused on outcomes.
- Evaluates facility operations to ensure readiness for TJC surveys and implements corrective measures as necessary.
- Participates in annual mock surveys with input from Corporate.
- Promotes professional development and growth within the team, fostering a culture of accountability towards departmental and organizational goals.
Educational Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution is required; a Master's degree (M.A.) is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in an acute care or behavioral health hospital environment.
Certifications and Licensure:
- No specific certifications required; however, a current understanding of regulatory standards and accreditation requirements is necessary.
Communication Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical literature, financial reports, and legal documents is required. Must be capable of responding to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory bodies, or business community members. Proficiency in presenting information to senior management, public groups, and boards of directors is necessary. The ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions is crucial.
