Chief Administrative Officer for Land-grant Engagement

Position Overview: The Chief Administrative Officer for Land-grant Engagement serves as a pivotal leader within the university, overseeing all engagement initiatives related to land-grant activities involving students, faculty, and staff.

Educational Requirements: Candidates must possess an earned doctorate or an equivalent terminal degree.
Experience Requirements: A distinguished record of achievement suitable for a tenured professorship is essential. The role demands extensive academic administrative leadership experience, ideally in positions such as department chair, center director, associate dean, or dean.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the chief administrative officer for the college, engaging regularly with the provost and other deans.
- Lead the land-grant engagement operations team and report directly to the university president.
- Recruit for specific academic and administrative roles as necessary.
- Manage the college budget effectively, ensuring alignment with the university's financial models.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the college's reputation for extramurally funded research.
- Conduct reviews of academic units, providing recommendations for performance improvement.
- Oversee curriculum delivery and student learning outcomes.
- Mentor and support direct reports while delegating responsibilities.
- Advocate for faculty positions and oversee performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with university regulations and promote a culture of wellness and belonging.
- Lead philanthropic development initiatives and alumni engagement efforts.
- Collaborate on public relations and marketing strategies.
- Direct educational, research, and extension activities of the college.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the president or provost.
