Job Summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families. Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered care to assigned patients, utilizing independent, dependent, and interdependent interventions to restore stability, prevent complications, and achieve optimal patient responses.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest developments and advancements in Labor and Delivery nursing practice.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, promoting a culture of teamwork, respect, and open communication.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two years of Labor and Delivery experience or completion of Parkland's Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Residency Program or Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Fellowship Program.
  • Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certificate or AWHONN Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring certificate or National Corporation Certification (NCC) Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification.
