About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS). As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the health and well-being of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to assigned patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on various aspects of care, including pain management, breathing techniques, and postpartum care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Two years of Labor and Delivery experience or completion of Parkland's Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Residency Program.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from a recognized organization.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.
