Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System. As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered care to assigned patients, utilizing independent, dependent, and interdependent interventions to restore stability, prevent complications, and achieve optimal patient responses.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring patient-centered and patient-valued care.
  • Assess patient needs, identify changes in condition, and provide timely interventions to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Administer medications safely, utilizing the patient's 6 rights, and maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  • Participate in information exchanges with nursing and other Parkland staff to support the standards, missions, goals, and objectives of the department and Parkland.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to supervisors to enhance patient and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two years of Labor & Delivery experience or completion of Parkland's Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Residency Program or Fellowship Program.
  • Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certificate or AWHONN Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring certificate or National Corporation Certification (NCC) Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification.
Work Environment

Parkland Health and Hospital System is a tobacco and smoke-free campus. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and patients.

This is a per diem position, requiring a minimum of 36 hours per week, including at least one weekend per pay period. The employee will be required to float to areas within their skillset as needed and maintain competency.
