Job Summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to assigned patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, utilizing independent, dependent, and interdependent interventions to restore stability, prevent complications, and achieve optimal patient responses.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and cultural background.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in Labor and Delivery nursing practice, attending seminars, workshops, and professional conferences as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two years of Labor and Delivery experience or completion of Parkland's Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Residency Program or Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Fellowship Program.
  • Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certificate or AWHONN Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring certificate or National Corporation Certification (NCC) Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification.
