Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System. As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to expectant mothers and their newborns, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to laboring patients, stable neonates, recovering patients, and postpartum patients, utilizing independent, dependent, and interdependent interventions to restore stability and prevent complications.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient-centered care principles.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with the latest advancements in labor and delivery nursing practice.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and excellence in patient care.
Requirements
  • Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Two years of Labor and Delivery experience or successful completion of Parkland's Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Residency Program or Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Fellowship Program.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
  • AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certificate, AWHONN Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certificate, or National Corporation Certification (NCC) Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification.
