Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Information Security Specialist for a Senior Manager position within our Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice. In this capacity, you will collaborate with a seasoned team of cyber and threat mitigation professionals to expand Exponent's business and client relationships. Our current initiatives focus on assisting clients in implementing protective measures, systems, and processes to bolster security and reduce risks associated with both physical and cyber threats.

Your Responsibilities
  • Deliver cyber security consulting and threat mitigation evaluations for clients.
  • Provide expertise in one or more of the following domains:
    • Identity management and access control
    • Threat mitigation
    • Privacy protection and safeguarding, intrusion detection
    • Machine learning/deep learning
    • Insider threat detection
    • Software analyses and reverse engineering
  • Drive business development by securing one or more consulting projects within the first year of employment.
  • Utilize your existing network of contacts alongside Exponent's extensive resources to generate new business leads and enhance offerings and value to current clients.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Security.
  • Demonstrated success as a cyber security consultant and strategic advisor.
  • Proven track record in business generation and securing contracts/funding.
  • Well-defined business development strategy with targeted clients/sectors.
  • Recognized thought leader/innovator in cyber security.
  • Expertise in assessing and implementing threat mitigation systems and processes.
  • Extensive network of existing contacts preferred.
  • Strong practical engineering skills complemented by leadership and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions, with opportunities for future success and career advancement. Exponent's total compensation plan aligns with the quality and quantity of work performed and adheres to the professional standards set by the firm. At the Manager level and above, total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and a 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
