Role Overview

The Sales Director is tasked with overseeing and guiding a team of Account Executives to achieve and surpass defined sales objectives. This role involves crafting sales strategies aligned with organizational goals to drive growth and enhance customer satisfaction. The Sales Director will be instrumental in helping Assent Compliance realize its ambitious growth and revenue aspirations through effective leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with Sales and Business Development leaders to ensure long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a motivated and engaged Sales team through effective training and reward systems;
  • Share accountability for the Sales function's success by defining and adapting strategies and refining processes;
  • Guide the team through all sales activities, from initial sales to renewals and expansion revenue, fostering strong relationships with clients for long-term partnerships;
  • Direct the implementation and execution of policies and practices within the Sales team;
  • Enable the team to achieve optimal efficiencies and foster collaboration across the Assent organization;
  • Enhance team competencies to strengthen customer relationships, improve predictability, and increase strategic interactions;
  • Monitor and analyze performance data to coach and drive both individual and team success;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Business Development, Marketing, and Customer Success Management to ensure a robust sales pipeline;
  • Provide accurate forecasting and management reporting to the VP of Sales;
  • Identify and recommend investment opportunities that will drive team success;
  • Support key customer relationships in collaboration with Account Executives to ensure strategic alignment;
  • Stay informed about sales strategies, tactics, and practices, and suggest improvements to Assent's systems;
  • Remain aware of competitor activities and adapt team strategies accordingly;
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to cultivate key relationships;
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales to proactively identify new initiatives and investment opportunities;
  • Uphold corporate security policies and support information security efforts to safeguard corporate assets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in Enterprise SaaS Software sales, with a strong focus on leading sales campaigns and achieving targets;
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in a sales leadership role within a rapidly growing organization, demonstrating success in managing teams of various sizes;
  • Relevant post-secondary education in Sales, Business, Management, or Engineering;
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to influence and build consensus among internal stakeholders and clients;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of fostering positive cross-functional relationships in a collaborative setting;
  • Solid business acumen, sales expertise, and negotiation capabilities;
  • High level of professionalism and a positive public image;
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly assess sales performance data and identify growth opportunities.
