Role Overview

The Sales Director will oversee and guide a team of Account Executives to achieve and surpass defined sales objectives. This role entails formulating sales strategies aligned with organizational goals to drive sales growth and enhance customer satisfaction. The individual will be instrumental in enabling Assent Compliance to fulfill its ambitious growth and revenue aspirations through effective leadership, mentoring, coaching, and collaboration with Sales and Business Development leadership for sustained success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, manage, and retain a motivated and engaged Sales team through effective development processes and incentives;
  • Share accountability for the Sales function's success by defining and refining strategies and evolving processes;
  • Support and manage the team through all sales activities, from initial sales to renewals and expansion revenue, while fostering strong relationships with clients for long-term strategic partnerships;
  • Direct the implementation and execution of policies and practices within the Sales team;
  • Empower the team to achieve optimal efficiencies, growth, and collaboration across the Assent organization;
  • Enhance team competencies to foster stronger customer relationships, improved predictability, and increased strategic interactions;
  • Monitor, analyze, and utilize performance data to coach and drive both individual and team success;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Business Development, Marketing, and Customer Success Management to ensure a robust pipeline to meet sales targets;
  • Provide detailed, accurate, and timely forecasting and management reporting to the VP of Sales;
  • Identify and recommend investment areas and activities that will propel the team towards greater success;
  • Support key customer relationships in partnership with Account Executive team members to ensure strategic alignment;
  • Stay informed about sales strategies, tactics, and practices, recommending enhancements to systems at Assent;
  • Remain updated on competitor activities and products, adapting the team's strategies accordingly;
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to cultivate key relationships;
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales to proactively identify opportunities for new initiatives and investments, providing insights and recommendations;
  • Understand corporate security policies and support the information security function to safeguard both information systems and corporate assets from undue risk.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of direct experience and success in an Enterprise SaaS Software sales context, with a strong focus on leading sales campaigns and achieving targets;
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in a sales leadership role within a rapidly growing organization, demonstrating experience in growing, leading, and managing teams of various sizes;
  • Post-secondary education in Sales, Business, Management, or Engineering;
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to influence and drive consensus among internal stakeholders and customers;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of developing positive and productive cross-functional relationships in a collaborative environment;
  • Strong business acumen, sales knowledge, and negotiation skills;
  • High level of professionalism, representing a positive public image;
  • Solid analytical skills, able to quickly assess and synthesize sales performance data to identify opportunities for improvement or growth.
