Tax Compliance Leader

We are seeking a skilled Tax Compliance Leader to oversee the company's tax provision, filing, and compliance activities. This role will report directly to the Tax Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Tax Director in managing all facets of tax operations, including tax provision, compliance, disputes, planning, and research.
- Lead the tax provision process, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of ASC740 and the requisite accounting and financial reporting skills to ensure precise tax provision and disclosures.
- Evaluate and manage tax risks by identifying potential issues and formulating mitigation strategies, as well as documenting Uncertain Tax Position Statements (UTPs) in accordance with ASC740-10.
- Oversee the domestic and international tax compliance processes, collaborating with service providers to review federal, state, foreign, and local income tax returns, along with other regulatory business activity returns.
- Review quarterly estimated income tax payments and monthly indirect tax payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of tax accounts while adhering to SOX compliance.
- Manage tax audits and examinations, liaising with external auditors to respond to information requests, and coordinating with service providers to safeguard the company's interests.
- Stay informed on tax developments, keeping abreast of changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to enhance tax technology solutions and automate processes for efficiency.
- Perform additional responsibilities, duties, and projects as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
- A Master's degree in business taxation and/or CPA designation is preferred.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both.
- Experience in the e-commerce or retail sector is advantageous.
- Possess a solid understanding of tax-related matters, complemented by a well-rounded finance and accounting background.
- Experience in tax compliance, accounting, research, and preparing memorandums is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
- Committed to fulfilling the needs of internal and external customers, responding promptly and thoroughly to requests, and effectively communicating complex tax issues to non-tax audiences both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated skills in resource and project planning, delivering results, team building, and keeping up with relevant technology and innovations.
- Ability to interface and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop solutions and integrate business processes across the organization.
- Exhibit strong ethics, negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, and the capacity to manage stress while engaging in continuous learning.
Mental Functions: Decisions made may impact a work unit or department area. Contributions to business and operational decisions affecting the department are expected. This position involves performing various routine tasks within established policies and procedures or by referring to supervisor guidelines.
Physical Functions: Sitting is required 90% of the time, with walking and standing required 5% of the time each. No heavy lifting is necessary. Constant use of a keyboard and telephone is expected.

Standard office and computer equipment, including MS Office software.
Compensation Transparency
This job posting may encompass multiple job levels.
The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $150,000 annually.
In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible for additional bonuses or incentives.
