Job Overview

Work Now Staffing is seeking a dedicated HR Support professional to assist our client in Bedford Park.

Compensation: $22.00 per hour

Work Schedule: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Thursday; 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and performance monitoring during the probationary period.
  • Support the HR Manager with various tasks including injury claims, disciplinary actions, insurance matters, COBRA, FMLA, retirement plans, and OSHA documentation.
  • Manage employee inquiries and disseminate information regarding holidays.
  • Maintain attendance logs and vacation schedules.
  • Collaborate with employment agencies as necessary, including tracking hours, submitting timesheets, and approving invoices; oversee temp-to-hire transitions.
  • Update and maintain the Seniority & Skills matrix.
  • Participate in Safety Committee activities, including:
    • Preparing agendas, attending meetings, documenting minutes, and following up on action items.
    • Managing the issuance of respirators, scheduling testing and training, and maintaining records.
    • Assisting with the upkeep of the SDS binder, Hazcom program, and product safety labels.
  • Provide phone support as needed.
  • Process requests for vacation and time off.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of office supplies and basic first aid materials.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts for entry-level and general labor positions, while keeping the job openings board updated.
  • Maintain relevant tracking systems.
  • Distribute company vehicle documentation and maintain an approved driver list.
  • Plan and coordinate employee events, including training sessions and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • No prior HR experience is required; training will be provided for quick learners with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) is essential; familiarity with smart sheets and Google Sheets is also required.
  • Reliable attendance is crucial.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance upon becoming a permanent employee.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is mandatory.
