About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Lead for our Safety Management System (SMS) Integration team, based in East Hartford, CT. This pivotal role focuses on the application and integration of Safety Risk Management principles throughout our organization. The primary goal is to identify, assess, and mitigate product safety hazards effectively across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the employee Report-A-Concern (RAC) process within the SMS framework.
  • Lead the Product Safety Ambassador initiative, ensuring comprehensive SMS training and outreach across various sites.
  • Manage the triage and technical evaluation of potential hazards reported through multiple channels, including employee feedback and safety audits.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of experts to ensure the seamless integration of Safety Risk Management processes.
  • Supervise adherence to the Safety Issue Management (SIM) process, including the administration and auditing of the SIM database.
  • Generate metrics and analytical reports to communicate the effectiveness of SMS processes to leadership.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Design, Structures, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering within the Aerospace sector, or 5 years with an advanced degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to access to restricted systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of SMS principles and the ability to convey these concepts to a wide audience.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with various safety risk management tools and engineering processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and other information systems.
  • Experience with CORE tools for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong decision-making skills based on risk assessment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in engaging with executive leadership.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage responsibilities without oversight.
