Overview

AssuredPartners in Hartford, CT is seeking an experienced Risk Management Specialist professional to join our regional team

As a Risk Management Specialist within our agency, you will manage a book of business in order to assist customers in preventing or minimizing exposure to potential claims across all lines of Commercial Insurance. The Risk Management Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining a schedule of risk control activities with assigned clients that include inspections, education, mentoring, quick response review, action plan assistance, mock survey including survey preparedness, consulting services, and loss review. The Risk Management Specialist maintains and works within established policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections of commercial properties to assess potential risks and identify areas for improvement in loss prevention.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business operations, goals, and risk appetite.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of existing risk management procedures and recommend appropriate enhancements.
  • Collect and analyze data related to property and liability risks.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining findings & recommendations
  • Provide training and education sessions to clients and their employees on loss control best practices, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with producers and account executives to evaluate risks, determine appropriate coverage, and negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Assist claims department by providing technical expertise and conducting root cause analysis to identify contributing factors
  • Provide on-site and virtual Risk Control consultation and services to Commercial Lines clients and fee-based clients via the organizations pre-established Client Services Model, as well as working with clients and insurance companies in obtaining compliance with recommendations in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Identify and evaluate loss exposures and assist in developing appropriate controls for all lines of Commercial Insurance held by assigned clients
  • Travel is expected throughout the Northeast region.

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years' experience in commercial insurance safety and risk management, with a strong preference for those operating in a brokerage setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ARM, CSP, CPCU) are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with various property types, equipment, and operational processes across different industries.
