Position Title: Event Services Supervisor

Scope of Position:

The Event Services Supervisor will support the Executive Chef/Food Services Director in overseeing banquet and food services personnel, including scheduling and time management. Responsibilities include working at events, assisting the Sous Chef as necessary, and performing clerical tasks such as data entry. The supervisor will also provide assistance to team members as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Knowledge: Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to effectively communicate ideas.

Skills: Competent in using standard commercial kitchen equipment and procedures for preparing and serving large quantities of high-quality food, establishing effective working relationships, and demonstrating attention to detail.

Ability: Follow written and verbal instructions, interact with individuals using accepted business practices, and utilize interpersonal skills to manage various situations. Capable of training, planning, and directing the work of others while organizing and prioritizing tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef/Food Services Director in recruiting, hiring, scheduling, and monitoring staff.
  • Support in preparing HR documentation for hiring and training.
  • Accurately follow Banquet Event Orders.
  • Enforce all operational rules and regulations.
  • Comply with dress code requirements.
  • Assist in setting up and dismantling event settings.
  • Manage all opening and closing activities for events.
  • Complete closing inspection duties and strike lists.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Control and minimize waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness in both front and back of house.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in all guest interactions.
  • Prepare, cook, and serve food as needed.
  • Provide breaks for staff as required.
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.

May walk or stand on varied surfaces and perform tasks that require bending, stretching, and lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted.

Medium work involves exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions:

This position may involve frequent contact with individuals from diverse backgrounds who may be upset or confused.

Work with minimal supervision, requiring a high degree of independence and the ability to make decisions in unique or complex situations.

Various scheduled work hours may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

May be exposed to a range of temperatures inside and outside the facility.

Education and Work Experience:

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED
  2. Work/Professional Experience: One year of experience in Food Services.
License and Certifications:
  • Current Food Handlers/SERV Safe card
