FUNCTION:


Engage as a proactive participant, receiving guidance in the sector while merging academic knowledge with practical experience, all under the direct oversight of agency professionals.

Each practicum opportunity will align with your personal interests, capabilities, and educational aspirations.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
None

GENERAL DUTIES:
Consistently executes designated daily and general responsibilities; adheres to deadlines.

Regularly attends and contributes to assigned meetings.

Meets established attendance standards and commences work punctually.

Understands and consistently applies the organization's mission along with all sanctioned policies, protocols, and procedures.


Actively supports compliance and accreditation initiatives as assigned, including but not limited to OSHA, HRSA, FTCA, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and the CCO's.

Respects and acknowledges the organization's commitment to cultural diversity, demonstrated through behavior, language, and actions.

Demonstrates effective use of time and resources consistently.

Interacts with clients and staff in a manner that positively reflects on the organization and fosters teamwork.

Maintains all expirable documents current with Human Resources as applicable (i.e., Driver's license, auto insurance, CPR certification, Food Handler certification, immunizations, personnel updates, annual safety quiz, and other required annual training as assigned).


Contributes to the creation of a health system that acknowledges the intricate relationship between mind and body through the integration of behavioral health principles into everyday healthcare practices and health promotion.


Supports initiatives aimed at enhancing the culture of patient/client/employee safety as a vital component of minimizing errors and improving overall healthcare quality.


SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Collaborate with your agency supervisor and college staff to establish learning objectives.

Each practicum experience will reflect your interests, abilities, and educational goals.

Gain an understanding of the philosophy, activities, and practices of the agency.

Develop the ability to work collaboratively with agency staff to establish and maintain your role within the agency.

Acquire and practice the skills necessary to assist clients served by the agency.

Reflect on and cultivate the values, attitudes, and skills that you possess and/or develop as a human service professional.

Adhere to program outcomes.

Students completing the AAS degrees will:
Characterize the nature of human systems: individual, group, organization, community, and society, along with their primary interactions,

Identify conditions that facilitate or hinder optimal functioning and types of deviations from desired functioning in major human systems,

Select and implement interventions that foster growth and goal achievement,

Plan, execute, and assess interventions,

Choose interventions that align with the values of oneself, clients, the employing organization, and the human services profession,

Utilize process skills to plan and deliver services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be an active student in a Social Services program with an approved site agreement.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:


Light work, requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.


The physical activities of this position may include sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, picking, pinching, typing, and lifting.

The worker is subject to indoor environmental conditions.

HAZARDS OF POSITION:
The worker may be exposed to infectious diseases.

The worker may encounter unpredictable behavior.

TB testing - high risk
