Position Overview:
A Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) plays a vital role in the healthcare system by gathering patient samples, performing essential analytical tests using established methodologies, confirming results, and communicating findings to the relevant healthcare professionals.

The CLT/CLS is responsible for ensuring the precision of all reported outcomes. They must exhibit compassion and professionalism in all interactions with patients.

The CLT/CLS guarantees adherence to regulatory standards, manages the daily functions of the laboratory, and contributes to the leadership of the HealthPartners Laboratory.


Work Schedule:
Day shifts with a rotation every 6th weekend, occasional coverage from noon to 8 p.m., and participation in holiday rotations.

Essential Qualifications:

An Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent programs that meet the certification criteria set by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science or the Department of Health and Human Services certificate as Medical Technologist (HEW) along with a High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree with coursework in biological and physical sciences, or a baccalaureate-level clinical laboratory education program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science, the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, or a recognized agency by the United States Office of Education. Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or equivalent by a national registry such as ASCP is required.

If you are a recent graduate, eligibility to sit for certification is acceptable.



Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting; demonstrated proficiency in keyboarding and computer skills; prior training and/or experience with the EPIC computer system is advantageous. Phlebotomy training and experience in drawing blood from patients of all ages, including infants and the elderly, is preferred.
