We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technician Level I to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. As a Clinical Laboratory Technician Level I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direct supervision of a clinical laboratory technologist, supervisor, or director, performs clinical laboratory procedures and examinations.
- Obtains, collects, and accesses specimens and labels them with name, date, and source.
- Prepares specimens and performs or assists in the performance of routine tests and analyses, employing standard controls in accordance with stipulated procedures utilizing manual or automated techniques.
- Records results and submits reports of diagnostic tests, utilizing safeguards such as delta checks and quality control.
- Valid certification as a clinical laboratory technician or a limited permit issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
- Successful completion of an appropriate training program for phlebotomy (satisfactory to the laboratory director) must be completed prior to an individual performing such work.
