About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Underwriting Manager to join our team at ICW Group. As a key member of our Commercial Package Underwriting team, you will be responsible for providing underwriting and operations workflow expertise and program management skills to drive initiatives that promote efficiency, drive production, and ensure compliance with operating policies for the Commercial Package Line of Business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the Strategy and Growth of Commercial Package Underwriting
    • Provide expertise and guidance to leadership to promote the strategy and growth of Commercial Package Underwriting.
  • Contribute to Department Goals and Plans
    • Contribute to the development and modification of department goals, plans, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Sustain a Sales Culture
    • Sustain a sales culture that consistently delivers on brand and product value proposition by producing reports, providing training, and monitoring production.
  • Collaborate with Branch Managers
    • Collaborate with Branch Managers in the training and development of Branch Team Members.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert
    • Act as subject matter expert (SME) in Commercial LOB's.
  • Leverage Understanding of Commercial Lines Workflow
    • Leverage understanding of commercial lines workflow and collaborate with technology on builds, including the development of our UW management and policy administration systems and other various technology initiatives.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 Years of Related Experience
    • Required minimum 3-5 years of related experience in commercial property, general liability, inland marine, auto, and umbrella/excess underwriting, preferably 5 yrs.
  • Bachelor's Degree
    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required in Business, Accounting, Statistics, or related field. Additional experience may be required in lieu of degree.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of Commercial Property, General Liability, Inland Marine, Auto, and Umbrella/Excess Coverage
    • Knowledge of Commercial property, general liability, inland marine, auto, and umbrella/excess coverage.
  • Understanding of Automated Workflows
    • Understanding of automated workflows.
  • Strong Knowledge of Insurance Underwriting Concepts and Principles
    • Strong knowledge of insurance underwriting concepts and principles.
  • Ability to Build Strong Business Relationships
    • Ability to build strong business relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Strong Work Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
    • Strong work knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
