Job Summary

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an IHOP restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth while maintaining the company's standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in achieving budgeted sales and profits by implementing effective sales strategies and managing inventory levels.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with IHOP employees and guests, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Implement the Craft Training program to enhance unit operations and the guest experience, resulting in improved sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the management team to execute annual financial, local restaurant marketing, guest service, and human resource objectives, strategies, and tactics.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the assigned unit.
  • Recruit, train, and retain employees as defined by the current SOP and operations plan for the assigned unit.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate supplies of food, paper, kitchen, safety, janitorial, uniform, linen, and miscellaneous supplies.
  • Maintain the proper operational condition of equipment, building structure, and premises according to federal regulations and the SOP.
  • Ensure safety and sanitation practices are maintained according to federal, state, and local regulations and the SOP.
  • Implement security practices as defined by the SOP.
  • Complete all required reports and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise craft employees at the assigned unit, providing guidance, coaching, and evaluation to ensure the team meets the company's standards.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak and read English fluently and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Additionally, the candidate should have basic mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, as well as compute rate, ratio, and percent.

The candidate should also be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment

The work environment for this role is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and caustic chemicals.

The ideal candidate should be able to work in a moderate noise level environment and be willing to adapt to changing circumstances.
