Position Overview: The Electronic Monitoring Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing all technical aspects of the Electronic Monitoring and Drug Testing initiatives at Wisconsin Community Services. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of electronic monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administer and manage the GPS/SCRAM program in accordance with established guidelines.
  2. Provide daily supervision and support for participants in various counties, ensuring proper installation, maintenance, and removal of monitoring equipment.
  3. Oversee complete enrollment and data entry for all participants in the monitoring system.
  4. Address and resolve scheduled maintenance and communication alerts promptly.
  5. Document and report all alerts and violations in compliance with program protocols.
  6. Manage participant agreements and ensure adherence to payment procedures for those responsible for monitoring fees.
  7. Communicate effectively with agencies and participants based on daily operational plans.
  8. Maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment and report any discrepancies immediately.
  9. Collaborate with program directors to address operational concerns and improve service delivery.
  10. Engage with program staff and external partners involved in electronic monitoring.
  11. Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of equipment according to established procedures.
  12. Conduct drug testing in compliance with chain of custody protocols.
  13. Monitor inventory levels of drug testing supplies and notify supervisors of low stock.
  14. Provide backup coverage for drug testing during weekends and after hours.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a thorough understanding of the criminal justice system, including relevant programs and procedures. Experience with web-based software and data management is preferred. Strong writing skills and the ability to multitask are essential. Certification in electronic monitoring equipment is required within a specified timeframe after hiring.

Minimum Requirements: An associate degree in criminal justice or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates with experience in case management related to intoxicated drivers. A valid driver's license and insured vehicle are mandatory.

Work Environment: This role involves both office-based and community-based work, with an average of 40 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary, including some evening hours. Travel is required for equipment installation and maintenance.

Physical Requirements: The position necessitates good hearing and verbal communication skills, dexterity for data entry, and the ability to perform installations that may require physical exertion.
