Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the City of Kirkland, WA. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for performing skilled construction, maintenance, repair, and remodeling of City buildings, facilities, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage projects from start to finish, including writing specifications, preparing bid documents, and supervising vendors and contractors.
  • Building Maintenance: Perform skilled construction, maintenance, repair, and remodeling of City buildings, facilities, and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to off-hours emergency situations affecting the safety and security of City buildings.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inventories, work orders, and project reports.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum five years of facilities maintenance or construction experience in a variety of building trades.
  • Skills: Knowledge of standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and techniques used in skilled construction and building maintenance duties and trades.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid Washington State driver's license and current first aid and CPR certification.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move heavy and bulky objects, and work in cramped spaces or at heights.
  • Environmental Conditions: Work in a variety of interior and exterior settings, including inclement weather.
