Key Responsibilities:
  • The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in the construction sector, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity, guiding project teams on-site or managing staff in previous roles.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of HVAC and Security sectors, along with expertise in Safety and Commissioning. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring, evaluating, and when necessary, recommending the termination of operations personnel. Ensures adherence to company policies regarding safety, resource utilization, tools, and employee development.
  • This role involves overseeing operations personnel in alignment with company HR policies and typically reports to an Operations Manager.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Conduct annual and mid-year performance evaluations for team members. Set performance objectives for staff.
  • Develop training programs for all employees and promote continuous professional development.
  • Regularly visit job sites and hold one-on-one meetings with direct reports to assess performance and gather customer feedback for departmental improvements.
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives for the department or branch.
  • Ensure that team members are equipped with the necessary tools and safety gear to perform their duties effectively.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports on daily construction and commissioning challenges, sharing best practices.
  • Stay updated on advancements in field tools and technologies, applying them to projects and business processes as needed.
  • Accountable for effective scheduling and utilization of team members.
  • Encourage the adoption of new installation, safety, and commissioning practices within the department or branch.
  • Manage the documentation process, including scheduling and conducting sales release meetings.
  • Assist sales teams in reviewing project cost estimates and creating deliverables for sales stages.
  • Lead quality control and safety audits for the department or branch, approving audits conducted by others.
  • Oversee key performance indicators on behalf of the Operations Manager.
  • Design and implement training for subcontractors to enhance their understanding of design specifications.
Educational Requirements:
  • A four-year degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
For this position, the anticipated compensation range is $100,000 to $140,000 annually, which includes base salary and short-term incentives. This compensation range applies to candidates located within the United States. Salary determinations are based on factors such as performance, expertise, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
