Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that Health and Safety remains the top priority by following established policies and procedures;
  • Supervise all maintenance staff during assigned shifts;
  • Oversee maintenance operations including welding, pipe fitting, mechanical, electrical, and preventive maintenance tasks;
  • Ensure a proper Preventive Maintenance schedule is maintained and monitored through our Facility Asset Management system for all equipment;
  • Handle personnel-related duties for maintenance staff, including recruitment, termination, and performance evaluations;
  • Manage contracts with external vendors for work planning and safety oversight for maintenance projects;
  • Collaborate with contractors as needed to achieve maintenance objectives;
  • Direct and approve work assignments;
  • Hold contractors accountable for project timelines, quality of work, and skill levels;
  • Track parts usage and costs as defined by management, including labor;
  • Work closely with the facility management team to achieve common goals of reliability and operational efficiency.

What qualifications are needed to work at Clean Harbors?
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline is preferred;
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in facility management is required;
  • At least 4 years of supervisory experience is preferred;
  • Experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls is advantageous;
  • Certification as a welder, mechanic, or pipe fitter is a plus;
  • Forklift training or experience is preferred;
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software applications;
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment in a plant setting is preferred.
