Position Title

Manager of Faith Education and Community Outreach

Position Summary

The selected candidate will oversee the development and execution of faith education, community outreach initiatives, and related programs essential for enhancing spiritual growth and social services aligned with the mission of the Archdiocese.

The individual must collaborate effectively with fellow staff members to cultivate a productive environment where worship, prayer, hospitality, and service are prioritized.

This part-time position will report directly to the Pastor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement goals for the Parish Religious Education Program:
    • Organize and coordinate faith education and sacramental preparation activities for students, including those from non-Catholic schools and candidates entering the Catholic faith.
    • Ensure the Religious Education program's schedule is accurately reflected on the Parish calendar.
    • Support adult faith formation initiatives within the Parish.
  • Enforce Archdiocesan policies and procedures in alignment with the Office of Catechetical Formation, participating in relevant trainings, events, and retreats.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities for Catechists, such as the Catechetical Convocation.
  • Review Safe Environment policies and assist with volunteer compliance regarding clearances and training.
  • Oversee the Parish Sacramental Preparation program for First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
  • Coordinate liturgical events for First Penance, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation in collaboration with the Pastor and Music Director.
  • Work with the Pastor, Parish Staff, School Leaders, and community members to identify and address social needs, including hunger, housing, financial support, mental health, and elder care.
  • Develop and coordinate outreach to individuals unable to attend Mass, ensuring access to Holy Communion for all Parish members.
  • Assist the Pastor in administering Sacraments to homebound individuals.
  • Facilitate monthly Mass or Communion Services at care facilities, assisting the Pastor or Deacon.
  • Support the Pastor in setting objectives and overseeing ministries that provide community support, including meal preparation and holiday events.
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers for outreach initiatives and events.
  • Manage the relationship with the St. Martin de Porres Foundation, providing necessary guidance related to grants and reimbursements.
  • Contribute to the financial budget process in collaboration with the Pastor.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pastor.

Qualifications

  • Active member of the Catholic faith, fully supportive of the Church's vision and teachings, with a willingness to pursue further religious education.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Religious Education or Theology; extensive experience in faith formation may be considered.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, excellent time management abilities, and a positive demeanor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and email applications.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison to community organizations seeking to partner with the Archdiocese for service initiatives.
  • Experience in leading and participating in meetings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Commitment to confidentiality regarding Church records and staff matters.
  • Experience in volunteer recruitment for outreach activities.
