Position Overview:

We are looking for a passionate Advocacy Coordinator to work in West and Southwest Philadelphia. This role involves collaborating with a variety of faith-based groups to equip them with essential organizing skills and to bolster their advocacy initiatives at local, state, and potentially national levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate regular discussions with community leaders
  • Build organizing teams within faith communities
  • Implement local advocacy campaigns in collaboration with community members
  • Provide training on effective community organizing techniques
  • Assist congregations with outreach efforts and strategic planning
  • Work with staff to develop innovative communication strategies

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience engaging with diverse community groups
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
  • Dedication to cultural awareness and ongoing development
  • Exceptional relational skills and ability to connect with community participants
  • Prior experience in organizing and faith-based initiatives is preferred
