Job Summary:
As a proficient and seasoned professional, the Academic Writing Supervisor utilizes a comprehensive array of knowledge and strategies to enhance the learning capabilities of students.
This role operates independently, seeking guidance in complex or unique situations.
Role Overview: The Academic Writing Supervisor within the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is responsible for managing a student services unit or a team of tutors/mentors within the School of Nursing, aimed at delivering writing support services to students.
The supervisor will report to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and collaborate closely with various OSA departments, faculty, and academic programs.
This oversight is driven by a student-focused and data-informed methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing policies and procedures for the student services program.
- Collaborating with supervisors to shape long-term organizational goals.
- Effectively managing financial and human resources.
The Student Writing Support Program at the School of Nursing provides a range of services including paper reviews, writing workshops, a scientific writing course, and writing diagnostics.
Student editors are available to assist registered students with various academic tasks, including assignments and scholarship applications.
Program Objectives: The aim of the Student Writing Support Program is to offer extensive writing assistance and resources to enrolled students, empowering them through support from student editors.
Additionally, the position involves establishing unit goals and objectives, particularly in student writing support and related programs, in alignment with supervisory input.
Compensation: The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on institutional policy.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of advising and writing support techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and multicultural competencies.
- Ability to identify problems and reason effectively.
- Skills in service orientation, organization, and critical thinking.
- Three years of relevant experience in writing and student support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with university-specific computer applications and databases.
- Experience in higher education administration.
- Knowledge of learning theories and academic curricula.
