Your Contribution

As a key member of our dynamic engineering team, you will engage in structural evaluations, mechanical assessments, and the validation of intricate mechanical designs that facilitate the successful integration of connectivity systems into commercial and business aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee analysis initiatives that confirm the safety and structural soundness of Intelsat's connectivity systems within aircraft.
  • Direct analysis and testing efforts to ensure timely completion of tasks aligned with project timelines.
  • Coordinate analytical tasks with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to project objectives.
  • Address challenges proactively to prevent project delays and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders promptly to maintain project schedule integrity.
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to ensure comprehensive visibility of your tasks is communicated to the appropriate parties.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to improve the efficiency of project tasks and departmental processes.
  • Provide relevant guidance and communicate program details within the organization and with external partners.
  • Develop design certification documentation, including Wire Routing Assessments, System Safety Assessments, Electrical Load Analyses, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, EWIS Assessments, and Technical Publication Manuals.
  • Advise product development teams on regulatory and industry standards compliance.
  • Work closely with FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) and external Organization Designation Representatives (ODA) members to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Assist Quality teams with Material Review Board (MRB) activities and Corrective Action Requests related to aircraft component safety and quality.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in aircraft structural design engineering and analysis.
  • Proven success in obtaining STC approvals through the development of Finite Element Models (FEMs), structural analysis, Damage Tolerance assessments, and related analyses.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced skills in Mechanical Design using SolidWorks (or similar) and AutoCAD.
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft structures and design for structural modifications and integrations.
  • Experience with Configuration Management (CM), preferably in an Agile environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including internationally, up to 5% of the time.
