Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in a relevant industry context.

At least 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either academic or professional environments.

2 years of experience in developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or familiarity with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.


Preferred Qualifications:


A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields. 2 years of experience in performance analysis, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.

Experience in developing accessible technologies. Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software testing engineering.

The Core team is responsible for building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. We advocate for the essential design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google.

These foundational elements are crucial for delivering excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and driving innovation for every developer.

We collaborate across Google's products to create central solutions, dismantle technical barriers, and enhance existing systems.

As the Core team, we possess a unique opportunity to influence significant technical decisions throughout the organization.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Participating in or leading design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate available technologies.

Reviewing code produced by other developers and providing feedback to ensure adherence to best practices (e.g., style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency). Contributing to existing documentation or educational content and adapting it based on product/program updates and user feedback.

Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
