Position Summary

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is seeking a highly skilled engineer to contribute to the Profile Tuning Suite (PTS) team as a Senior Software Development Engineer II. This role is pivotal in leading the design and development of advanced software tools that assist our member customers in creating, testing, and qualifying their Bluetooth products.


Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the design, development, and testing of the Bluetooth SIG suite of compliance and interoperability tools within a dynamic Agile environment.
  • Promote continuous learning and enhancement in the design, development, and maintenance of Bluetooth SIG software products.
  • Utilize a robust understanding of both traditional and emerging technologies to foster market differentiation and long-term positive impact.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development methodologies to support Continuous Integration and ensure timely delivery of valuable software solutions.
  • Diagnose complex issues and devise effective solutions.
  • Assess existing software development practices and work towards improving quality and performance.
  • Champion software development best practices.
  • Mentor team members and provide guidance to senior personnel and management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to clarify requirements and deliver effective tools.
  • Work under broad direction towards long-term objectives.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications
  • 9+ years of software development experience with C/C++.
  • Proven ability to lead and provide innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Expertise in assessing the appropriateness of further efforts in specific areas.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality, customer-focused content on schedule.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of Computer Science and engineering principles, with expert understanding of structured software design.
  • Ability to quickly and independently learn new tools, technologies, and processes.
  • Passion for technology and strong customer empathy.
  • Capacity to make impactful decisions that align with the critical goals of Bluetooth SIG.
  • Experience mentoring technical teams and teaching complex concepts.
  • Highly skilled in scheduling, product planning, and analyzing the feasibility of new products.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively in an international business context.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in developing and working with protocol stacks.
  • Strong background in embedded systems programming.
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth core, protocol, or profile technology.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration practices.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development.
