Job Overview

The role primarily involves clinical responsibilities concerning the assessment, treatment, and management of pediatric patients within a collaborative setting that includes physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, clinical scientists, and social workers.

Position Highlights

This position provides exposure to a diverse range of pediatric patients, including both general and high-acuity cases. Additionally, it encompasses the teaching and supervision of medical residents and offers opportunities for involvement in research and academic publishing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilizes knowledge of pediatric growth and development in patient interactions and treatment.
  • Engages in continuous self-education through reading medical journals, attending conferences, and obtaining CME credits.
  • Organizes and delivers monthly training sessions to address the developmental needs of staff and residents.
  • Oversees the follow-up of diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and patient communication.
  • Provides direct clinical services, including conducting comprehensive history and physical examinations, interpreting patient data, formulating treatment plans, and managing routine orders for laboratory studies and consultations.
  • Facilitates patient and family education, assists with follow-up care, and performs necessary screenings and procedures.
  • Contributes suggestions to enhance departmental operations and participates in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Engages in research activities and contributes to academic publications.
  • Serves as a mentor and educator for medical students and residents.
  • Participates in the on-call schedule as required.
Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited institution.
Current medical license in good standing.
American Heart Association BLS certification, maintained throughout employment.
