Job Summary

As a Pediatric Audiologist at Nicklaushealth, you will specialize in providing preventative, diagnostic, habilitative, and rehabilitative services related to audition and communication disorders in children from birth to 21 years of age. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate neonates, pediatrics, and adolescents for both inpatient and outpatient populations, and provide diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients exposed to ototoxic drugs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and other related meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain and document productivity standards set by leaders, ensuring accurate and timely patient documentation, statistics, and charges.
  • Conduct and interpret evaluations based on patient medical concerns, developmental age, diagnosis, and prognosis, providing recommendations for treatment.
  • Provide active and supportive communication with patients and caregivers regarding problems and other issues related to hearing loss.
  • Recommend and provide referrals based on medical, clinical, functional, and observational findings.
  • Counsel patients and families to ensure understanding, acceptance, adjustment to auditory, vestibular, or related disorders, and the special needs of the hearing-impaired patient.
  • Maintain ongoing CEUs to maintain professional licensure and clinical excellence.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Audiology or Doctorate degree with emphasis in Audiology.
  • Audiologist State of Florida license - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • ASLHA - Amer Speech Lang Hearing Assoc Certificate of Clinical Competency.
  • American Heart Association BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • Level II Finger printing background and Good Moral Character Affidavit must be initiated within 15 days of hire date and finalized within 90 days of hire date.
  • Clinical Pediatric Rotation in Audiology or Pediatric Experience in Audiology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.
  • Able to maintain flexibility in schedule to meet patient and business needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to effectively interact with patients, caregivers, physicians, and co-workers.
