Position Overview
The Senior Vice President of Operational Resilience is tasked with delivering strategic foresight, executive leadership, and oversight of the organization’s Business Continuity Management System (BCMS). This executive will advocate for business continuity and operational resilience initiatives throughout the enterprise, recognizing value and fostering trusted partnerships. The SVP will spearhead transformative strategies and creative execution to meet specific objectives related to operational and technological resilience. This role demands the formulation of business strategies that leverage strengths, competitive advantages, and unique differentiators. The SVP will utilize extensive knowledge and situational awareness to navigate complex and critical challenges across various business lines.

The SVP will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Business Continuity, leading a dedicated team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a comprehensive vision for business continuity and operational resilience, crafting program outcomes and objectives.
  • Promote executive engagement and commitment to the program, providing updates aligned with organizational goals.
  • Maintain leadership and guidance across business lines, offering proactive expertise and resources for Business Continuity.
  • Demonstrate the ability to transition from theoretical frameworks to operational execution during critical situations.
  • Advocate for effective governance and policies, ensuring responsibilities and authorities are clearly defined and communicated.
  • Direct the Business Continuity Office (BCO), overseeing staff development, training, and performance management to establish best practices.
  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives that uphold ISO 22301 standards, aligning with business objectives and emerging revenue opportunities.
  • Implement controls to manage identified strategic risks, influencing business leaders to make informed risk tolerance decisions.
  • Ensure product lines have robust disaster response protocols and testing measures in place.
  • Oversee the effectiveness of continuity plan exercises, ensuring comprehensive testing of Comcast Business operations and services.
  • Manage internal controls to maintain evidence of program effectiveness for key stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about current regulations and standards impacting the industry, along with trends in crisis management and business continuity.
  • Foster partnerships with external agencies to enhance Emergency Preparedness, Crisis Management, and Operational Resilience efforts.
  • Align various risk disciplines to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Oversee budget management and accountability.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent education in a relevant risk management field.
  • 15-20 years of progressively responsible experience with a focus on business outcomes.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in business continuity or frontline business management.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications operations and business continuity principles is essential.
  • Ability to influence and persuade key stakeholders effectively.
  • Awareness of emerging threats and industry best practices.
  • Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills with situational awareness.
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure and support business partners effectively.
  • Familiarity with business continuity software and relational database environments.
  • Strong project management skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for relationship management and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and ability to cultivate executive relationships.
