Position Overview

Role Summary

We are in search of a committed Customer Care Coordinator to fulfill a vital role within our organization. This position is responsible for handling incoming calls in a call center environment and accurately inputting customer information into our systems.

  • Promptly responds to telephone inquiries and manages order intake.
  • Collects patient co-pays and coinsurance for services provided.
  • Evaluates the most effective service delivery methods while considering reimbursement and cost implications for the organization.
  • Informs customers about product availability and options.
  • Ensures empathetic and positive interactions with customers, caregivers, referral sources, and payers.
  • Makes informed decisions based on customer needs, vendor pricing, and third-party reimbursement possibilities.
  • Creates new customer accounts, processes work orders, and monitors account accuracy and completion.
  • Addresses customer concerns and complaints by identifying issues and coordinating appropriate corrective actions to ensure optimal service.
  • Responds swiftly and professionally to inquiries from patients and referral sources regarding equipment/supplies availability and coverage guidelines.
  • Recommends additional products or services relevant to the customer's diagnosis.
  • Performs other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications

Employment Requirements

  • Successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Drug screening (if applicable for the position).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license in the state of residence with a clean driving record (if applicable for the position).

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with medical equipment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with medical billing practices and reimbursement processes is preferred.
  • Experience in the medical field and administrative record management is beneficial.
  • One year of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interpret various forms of communication (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual).
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to multi-task with a keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and proficient in time management and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in email communication and internet navigation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Competence in using office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, and computers/tablets.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry office equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds and transport patient equipment.
  • May require on-call duties, driving a company vehicle, and delivering to patients' homes.
  • Involves contact with patients and equipment, with potential exposure to contagious pathogens.
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening.
  • Requires close vision for reading small print on computers and paperwork.
